Fit for purpose, simple and robust

27th August 2016 by
Have had a pair of these for about two years now, always useful. Even if I don't need them, it's guaranteed someone else in the section will. They're a simple design which means less parts to fail on you.

Adjustment is made by twisting the smaller section of pole loose, pulling it out until at the correct length, and then twisting it tight again. I would recommend this over the external screw pin design of other poles as I can predict that getting bent or snapped off eventually.

At its shortest, it's very low profile, which obviously makes it harder to get into, but is the most tactical. You can always trade good drills for comfort and increase the length.

The plastic rim at the bottom has snapped off on one of mine, but it doesn't affect the function of the pole, and in fact makes it easier to get it down the side of my roll mat when not in use.

You Dont Know You Need These Until You Use Them!

9th November 2015 by
I had for years gotten by with out using basha poles when setting up a shelter, however when I finally took the plunge and bought a couple I realised just how much easier it was to build a basha with them!

These are very well made and being telescopic they reduce down to size that fits inside your bergan - or even strap to the side of it.

Using them you are able to set up a basha without having to use trees to tie onto and so you have much more freedom to set up a quality shelter no matter how many trees are nearby.

So while you can get by without them I would recommend getting a couple as they do make shelter building much easier, besides if they are good enough for the All Arms Commando Course they are good enough for Cadets!
