Personal Kit, Highly Recommended
The cooker is a VAST improvement over other military and commercial solid fuel cookers.
1) Unlike other cookers, it's more stable when using mugs.
2) It works far more efficiently in open areas and in wind and breeze.
3) Compact, when nested in the '95 Patt Mug and '58 Waterbottle (with or without the '58 Patt Mug), it takes up only about 1cm of height. The entire Crusader system can therefore be carried in a '90/'95 Patt PLCE Waterbottle/Utility Pouch.
I acquired this cooker over ten years ago and have tested it exhaustively under a wide range of arduous conditions. The crucible enables you to use liquid fuels (eg: methylated spirits) when no other fuel is available (VITAL if you're into long distance hikes). With the '44 Patt Mug and even with mess tins, it works better than the issue hexamine cooker.
