Excellent general walking boot

First off I hate boots with a membrane, they always fail eventually and make my feet too hot, these tabbing boots from Altberg are a dream come true for me, I walk an average of 8 to 10 miles EVERY day and I use these for 90% of my walks including in the winter. They had be made fairly waterproof with the regular applying of wax, so I very rarely get damp feet even traverseing streams. As with any boot if you look after them they last and these really will last. Excellent boot

I thought about the altberg jungle but decided on the tabbing instead am really chuffed with them. Better at keeping out the water and are better made.

I bought these as an alternative to my issue defenders which are quite heavy and so far they've performed really well and are comfortable and light especially when running around a lot.

I have seen the future, and it is the Alt-Berg Tabbing boot!
Alt-Berg prided themselves on making these their lightest boot yet (on par with the sneeker), but they haven't sacrificed any durability. The vibram soles will see these going for a long time, and you can definitely feel the benefit for all the weight they've trimmed off.
This is definitely a next-level purchase, go for them after you have shopped around. Otherwise, you won't feel the benefit. They are expensive, but they are in this range from every supplier.
It is a little annoying how they let water in really easily, but I completely accept that in a road marching boot. Maybe they aren't the best if you want to stay warm and dry all the time, but if you're on a road for ages and ages then there nothing else comes close. Comfy as anything, light as a feather. I'll be resoling these when I wear through the rubber in a few more years.
Best road marching boots I ever owned.

Good Boot

A very comfortable boot, if a little pricey. A half size up on your normal boot may be needed as they are quite snug. Had a pair for two years and no problems with them. Comfy from the first wear.

Bought these for cadets. Excellent boots, great quality and very comfortable. Only downside is if your going to be wearing thick patrol socks it's an idea to go up half a size as its a bit of a squeeze.
