Not great RAF belt

28th November 2019 by
The stitching around the holes for the buckle is a light blue thread, that stands out compared to the dark blue used on my previously issued bels (the actual photo shows the thread around the holes dark blue, this is not the case). The buckle seems a bit cheaper silver metal compared to a genuine staybright buckle, and the buckle was scratched when it turned up. The press stud doesn't line up at the point of the belt no matter what holes you use (if you use the middle holes like you should be, the press stud was about a cm away from fastening, if you used the end holes, the press stud was a cm the other way). The actual holes for the belt are slightly off centre on the verticle, not in the middle of the belt, they are slightly to the top, which causes slight difficulty getting the buckle to fasten smartly. The material is thinner yet stiffer than the genuine issue belt. I had to use a black felt tip pen to colour the thread, reposition the press stud, and I got a tailor to remove the buckle from my original belt and replace with the cheaper buckle. Was in a bit of a pinch so didn't have the time to return, so had to make the alterations and fix as best as possible. Plus it seems impossible to find elsewhere. Apart from that, though....

Difficult to get hold of RAF No.1 Dress Belt

3rd March 2018 by
I've found these belts difficult to get hold of in the past and our squadron has spare jackets but no belts to go with so I've been buying these instead and the quality is good and are made from the correct material which is a good match for the No.1 RAF Dress Jacket.
